Food: Awesome. The best “homemade” tasting flavors. Perfectly sized soup dumplings that enables you to fully enjoy each dumpling with all of the soup inside. This might be the most perfectly executed soup dumpling we have had in recent memory. We had the pork shrimp. Service is minimal. The atmosphere is... fascinating. Taking up most of the wall real estate is a painting that is both disturbing and deeply intriguing, and which became the subject of an hour long sociopolitical discussion that turned into growing admiration for the piece. It grows on you, the more you study it, but is jarring at first glance. Strange experience. Amazing food. Highly recommended.

I've eaten tons of soup dumplings in Montreal, and these were among the best! They had a little less soup in them than other places, but had lots of filling and were incredibly rich & flavorful. The fried dumplings were also lovely. The pork & corriander dumplings were the best - such a rich broth, super fresh corriander, and lots of meat. The restaurant itself was very cozy - a sunken space with lots of modern art, not too loud or too crowded. The staff was very kind, and the price was fair. I'd happily go back!

If you are in Montreal and looking for authentic dumplings, this is a good place to have them dumpling were freshly steamed and tasted really nice. The best part was rename and dumpling were steamed fresh . They don’t give sriracha or any sauce - this is authentic so only soy sauce

I am from BC and have heard about the awesome xialongbao but have not tried it. On my first night in Montreal I decided to try this place because it was close to my hotel and the reviews are great. There was another place on the same street 2 blocks away but the line was long so I opted to go inside this place. It’s late, I was starving and didn’t know where to find a good meal in a foreign city. I ordered the xialingbao because they show at the window by the entrance how they do it so I was intrigued. Oh my, I was hooked right away. It was so yummy, soft, juicy, fresh, that I was thinking of having the same for dinner the following night.

Funny story, but I have found this place during a breakup getaway. Became my comfort place where I had the lamb coriander dumpling over 10 times in a two week period lol. Their wonton soup is also exceptionally comforting. The location has its own quirk which really makes it memorable. Taken a few locals there since who’ve been just as amazed as me when I first went there.

The staff was exceptionally polite, nice, and friendly! The food was not only delicious but also served promptly. The lunch specials are a steal; I was so full. The xiao long baos were generously sized, and I also really enjoyed the tofu salad. The restaurant vibe is great, and the overall cleanliness was good too.
